Don’t be Limited in Your Counter Surface Choice
By · CommentsGranite counter surfaces consistently top the most wanted lists for durability and composition, and rightly so. For those wanting something a little different in their kitchen or bath, there are expanded choices available for stone counter tops. Construction Resources is proud to offer a variety of different stones like marble, soapstone and quartz. We also provide new sealers, which add to the durability, looks, and functionality of these alternatives.
Marble is popularly thought of as white, but can come in many different colors and is usually heavily veined. There are a couple of good options for increasing durability for high-traffic areas. The first option is to have a good sealer, like Artisan Group’s Firstline Sealer applied to protect against scratches and stains. Another way to increase durability is to have the marble be honed to give it a matte or satin finish that does not show scratches or etchings as much as a high reflective surface. Marble such as Calacatta Gold and White Carrara are available at Construction Read More→
Wide Range of White Options from Construction Resources
By · CommentsWhite kitchens are fresh and easy to keep clean, and white counter surfaces are the perfect backdrop for vibrant cookware or to make colorful culinary concepts pop. There are some tricks to making a white kitchen work, and Construction Resources is happy to share our tips for the best way to make white work for you.
One of the first things to remember about any use of white is that it’s a range, not a color. There are hundreds of shades of white, varying from cool to warm. Make sure you vary and coordinate these efforts throughout your kitchen: one white for all is going to feel blank and empty. Texture can go a long way to making this work, as it will give the white a flavor all its own.
When it comes to accessories, you want to use warm colors to stand out and make the kitchen welcoming and invigorating. Warm gray ceramic tile for flooring or backsplash can work very well. As does lighter wood, such as bamboo for accents on blinds or shades. Finally, spot color brings it all Read More→

Green Options Available at Indoor Slab Gallery
By · CommentsWe’re pleased to announce that we’ve enlarged our Indoor Slab Gallery at 224 Rio Circle in Decatur with a huge environmentally-friendly section to make your green kitchen project easier than ever. Our gallery is the largest in Georgia with over 20,000 square feet of product, which makes it the one stop shop for remodelers, decorators, homeowners, and builders. Two of our home-grown favorites that are helping to fill our new green products section are Cambria and Vetrazzo slabs.
Cambria’s origin as the only US-created quartz surface means we can pass the savings of getting it to our showroom directly to you. Additionally, Cambria’s process of creating the material uses a unique setting and filtering process to recycle the water and reduce waste. Cambria has received a host of accolades, from GREENGARD to US Green Building Council to NSF International as a safe, radon-free food preparation surface which also looks great in your kitchen year after year.
Ventazzo is the US inventor of recycled glass countertops, and transforms glass unusable for standard recycling like traffic lights, building glass, and windshields, into beautiful countertops. Vetrazzo transformed 250 tons of recycled glass, about half of which couldn’t be used by any other form of recycling, into 550 pound slabs in our showroom. Read More→
Top Trends in Tile Available at Construction Resources
By · CommentsWe’ve seen many wall and flooring trends come and go, but there are none that has weathered the jostling sea of public opinion like tile. Modern looks of accent tile take on the visual qualities of wood, to give a different, natural flavor while still maintaining the integrity, ease of use, and resilience of tile. We have also seen a leap in the popularity of glass tile, both in large and small sizes.
The integration of varying tile formats into mosaic patterns is closely following glass as the tile trend du jour. In this form, traditionally neutral colors of tile are used to form the background while color is used for accent and expression. This is also true for some colors traditionally thought as neutral, as the use of gray to form veins to stand out among other tile is making the middle ground color’s stock rise.
Construction Resources and Atlanta Marble Manufacturing can provide you with all of the tile resources an options that can imagine. Even better, we can help you with one part of tile that hasn’t changed with time and tide: tricky installation, especially with glass tiles and larger tiles. When you want tile installed by skilled professionals, choose Construction Resources to make sure your investment not only looks beautiful, but stands the test of time.
Not sure where to start? Come visit our showroom in Decatur to see top trends in action, and examples of how our wide variety of styles and resources can work to make the kitchen or bath of your dreams come to life. For more information visit www.constructionresourcesusa.com.

A cutting edge feature has been added to the Cambria website that will help designers create the perfect space – the Mood Board. It is a place where visions of spaces can be made into actual visualizations.
The tool allows users to upload photos of design elements like flooring, lighting, furniture and accessories, and combine it with images from Cambria’s collections of pure natural quartz countertops. This makes it possible to share with others a snapshot of design plans.
Photos of things like carpet, wood, tile, lighting fixtures, cabinetry, paint colors, fabrics, furnishings, hardware, accessories etc., can uploaded and viewed alongside color blotches of Cambria products so that customers can really “see” how the finished space will look on a “Mood Board.”
Then, when you’ve finished uploading your photos and choosing your Cambria products, share your final Mood Board on Cambria’s Facebook page, where it could be selected as a featured Mood Board on the Cambria website – where your ideas could inspire others.
Construction Resources offers the warmth and richness that can only be found in natural quartz surfaces by Cambria, which combines natural elegance and beauty with practical functionality and lasting durability. Cambria is stronger than granite, and is non-porous, making it one of the safest surfaces for food preparation and the greatest performance out of surfaces. Virtually maintenance free, it’s also ideal for vanities or as shower or tub surrounds and adds a touch of luxury to any space.

Saratoga Soapstone, a natural stone countertop, was included in a DIY network House Crashers episode that turned a major Phillies fan’s under-used, plain family room into an “MLB mancave.”
In addition to gorgeous Saratoga Soapstone countertops in Mineral Black on the bar with eight built-in draft taps, the interior installation included a “kegavator” – an elevator to carry kegs (and people), a custom-made bar top with baseballs signed by top MLB talents set in resin, an HDTV with over 150 channels and a one-year cable subscription
The renovation extended outside of the home with a state-of-the-art, built-in outdoor barbeque grill, also with Saratoga Soapstone in Mineral Black, Read More→
New Luna Marble Looks Like Wood
By · Comments
If you are looking for a truly one-of-a-kind kitchen, our new Luna marble might be just the countertop you are seeking. We have two gorgeous slabs of this material in stock and they won’t last long.
This beautiful stone is so appealing because it speaks to the most current color palette trend of pairing warm greys and whites. It resembles petrified wood and the natural linear vein running throughout it makes it a very unique surface.
Grey and white kitchens have been white hot in 2011 and the trend is expected to continue into 2012. Gray has become the new hot neutral because it pairs well with bright colors and is fine all by itself. Some designers are even saying that grey is the new white! That makes me wonder if we will see it walking down the aisle at the next wedding we attend?
Grey makes its debut in the kitchen as the color of cabinetry, backsplashes, countertops and flooring. Grey helps to tie all Read More→
