Construction Resources finds New Ways to Inspire in addition to our Indoor Slab Gallery
Posted by: | CommentsIn addition to the 20,000 square feet of the indoor slab gallery and additional showrooms across Georgia, Florida, Alabama and South Carolina, Construction Resources is always exploring new ways to inspire with gorgeous kitchens and baths. To that end, we’ve been working hard on developing robust profiles on two new social media sites, Pinterest and Houzz.
Pinterest allows us to share tons of photos in different categories. We’re using it to show our products and our kitchen, bath and other home and commercial design spaces. An awesome part about Pinterest is that it’s easier than ever to share images, or “pins,” with other users. Often, the images automatically link back to the source material. This means if you see a gorgeous countertop picture, you can often go right to the product information without being bothered to search for it. We’re updating our Pinterest frequently, so you can check often or follow our boards to see when we have new inspirations to share. You can find the Construction Resources Pinterest boards here. Design Tips for an Entertaining Kitchen
Posted by: | Comments
If you are looking at either buying a new home or renovating your current abode and want it to be the place everyone comes to and hangs out at, follow these design tips. From fabulous kitchen countertops to cabinetry, it’s easy to make your kitchen the heart of fun in your home.
- Arrange your kitchen for entertaining – remember that while you want people inside the kitchen, you don’t want them between you and your workspace. You can influence this by setting barstools around the outer edge of your work area, so people can watch, converse and have fun in the kitchen without slowing down your cooking and prep.
- Keep the upper cabinets – while there has been a trend recently of removing above-counter cabinets, there’s just too much space available to not keep them. This added space can make prep, clean up and entertaining easier.
- Good lighting is essential – you need good lighting to see the food you’re working with and just as important to define the space and set the mood. In the kitchen, it’s better to have more lights and install a dimmer so that you can set lighting as appropriate. The extra light can also go a long way in showing off your kitchen furnishings.
- Choose a surface that is easy to clean – when it comes to counter surfaces, look for stain resistant surface options like Cambria quartz countertops. You can achieve similar effects with powerful sealers and the right cleaning products for materials like granite, marble and more.
To see some great examples of working and entertaining kitchens, as well as gorgeous bathrooms, you can stop by any of our kitchen and bath showrooms. What other tips do you have for making a kitchen a great entertainment spot? Share them below in the comments.

Live Large in Small Bathrooms
Posted by: | Comments
Swapping out your vanity or doing a glass enclosure for your shower can make a small bath feel bigger.
Having a small bathroom in your home doesn’t mean having to suffer or undergo a big renovation. There are lots of tricks you can use to make small bathrooms feel bigger than they are and Construction Resources is ready to help with quality bathroom specialty products.
One of the easiest ways to change the size and feel of your bathroom is to change from the traditional vanity, which can take up space and be clunky in a smaller bathroom. You can replace it with a sink console, which is more open and airy and leaves space for décor. The other option is to go from a traditional vanity to a petite vanity, which takes up less space but is still enclosed so you can privately store necessities and toiletries. You can save space and look wonderful with a petite vanity of Cambria Quartz made from a remnant and we have many options to choose from at our slab gallery.
Another way you can make the space seem bigger is by using glass shower doors rather than a shower curtain. Even patterned or privacy glass will make the bathroom seem bigger, as opposed to cutting off the space with the shower curtain. You can also make the most out of the space with clever uses of shelving and towel bars, so that it doesn’t feel like the necessary items of the bath are crowding the space – organization is a must to make small feel big.
