Top Trends in Tile Available at Construction Resources
Posted by: | CommentsWe’ve seen many wall and flooring trends come and go, but there are none that has weathered the jostling sea of public opinion like tile. Modern looks of accent tile take on the visual qualities of wood, to give a different, natural flavor while still maintaining the integrity, ease of use, and resilience of tile. We have also seen a leap in the popularity of glass tile, both in large and small sizes.
The integration of varying tile formats into mosaic patterns is closely following glass as the tile trend du jour. In this form, traditionally neutral colors of tile are used to form the background while color is used for accent and expression. This is also true for some colors traditionally thought as neutral, as the use of gray to form veins to stand out among other tile is making the middle ground color’s stock rise.
Construction Resources and Atlanta Marble Manufacturing can provide you with all of the tile resources an options that can imagine. Even better, we can help you with one part of tile that hasn’t changed with time and tide: tricky installation, especially with glass tiles and larger tiles. When you want tile installed by skilled professionals, choose Construction Resources to make sure your investment not only looks beautiful, but stands the test of time.

Subway Tiles for More than Public Transportation
Posted by: | CommentsThe rectangular subway tile is making its way into more than crowded hubs of public transportation. Many designers are taking the cue and bringing this piece of urban life indoors. Instead of square-tiled backsplashes or showers, these unique subway tiles are showing up in all sorts of configurations and colors.
We recently installed subway tiles in this Atlanta bathroom, and what a statement they make accented with glass mosaic tiles. The subway tiles traditionally run horizontally, but inside the glass-tile pattern, they are changed up to run vertically. Vertical tiles also outline the shower. Read More→
Mosaic Tiles Add Versatile Elegance to Homes
Posted by: | Comments
There is no question that a few perfectly placed pieces of art make a home look distinguished and upscale. But the only gallery you’ll have to go to is Construction Resources. To add elegant and artful touches to your home, consider adding a tile mosaic.
Whether in the kitchen or bathroom, tile mosaics give a room that extra “wow-factor,” showing that time, thought and effort was put into creating the room.
Tile has always been a popular material in areas that tend to be wet, like showers and bathrooms, but mosaic achieves an extra special look.
In bathrooms and kitchens alike, consider adding a tile backsplash to your current home, or even your new one. The simple renovation will allow you to get creative and tie new beautiful colors or emphasize existing ones if you so desire.
Current mosaic trends for kitchens include adding a little brightness. Try a brighter tile interspersed with other tones represented in your kitchen. Of course, a tile backsplash is a functional and fashionable feature to have in the kitchen, but try adding smaller tiles in artsy ways so they can complement the larger ones. Read More→
Cambria: Explore the Possibilities
Posted by: | CommentsToday I arrived in Minneapolis for the Cambria 2011 Lexus Partner marketing summit, and so far it has been a huge treat. My first stop on the tour was International Market Square where we visited the Cambria Showroom. The showroom is open to the public and truly demonstrates the many possibilities for using Cambria in design. From a fireplace fabricated by bending Cambria to entire slabs used on a shower wall, the this product has some creative uses. Cambria can form tile walls or even be used as slabs for sliding doors. Jaimie Hall did an excellent job of showing us the showroom and slab gallery.
The Cambria showroom specializes in demonstrating natural quartz surfaces for countertops, vanities, and many other surfacing applications. If you are looking for a beautiful, strong, carefree, food-safe and stain resistant surface for your kitchen or bath, make sure to consider Cambria. With an array of colors and an exceptional performance, Cambria is the safest surface for food preparation. With Cambria, you’ll add warmth and beauty plus the strength and durability that can only be found in natural quartz.

Amazing Eco Countertop Options
Posted by: | Comments
Environmental sustainability is a huge deciding factor when it comes to materials in any remodel or build. Luckily, Construction Resources offers several eco-friendly countertop options that are beautiful as well.
ECO by Consentino is available in 10 colors and two finishes. The non-porous material is not only beautiful, but high performance, as it resists staining, scratching and scorching. Homeowners or builders striving for LEED Certification can gain points by utilizing this material for countertops. The post-consumer or post-industrial materials dictate the colors. For example, Black Forest is composed of mainly recycled glass and quarried stone, while White Diamond is mostly recycled glass.
The IceStone line is another eco-friendly option, and versatile as well. The surface can be used for countertops, walls and floors alike. IceStone comes in 24 standard colors, but due to the ability to tint the background mix and select from different sizes and colors of glass, the palette is unbound. Combining the strength of granite and heat resistance of stone, the material is very durable. Also, due to the high recycled content, the material can be used for LEED points.
Keeping with the recycled glass theme, Construction Resources offer Vetrazzo glass surfaces. Made of 85 percent glass (all recycled). The colors continually evolve as difference sources of recycled glass are discovered. The surface is durable and easy to maintain on top of being heat and scratch resistant.
For more information on these eco-friendly options, visit the Construction Resources website, or stop by one of the three Atlanta-area showrooms.
