If you are looking at making some kitchen upgrades this holiday season, our designers are saying homeowners can make an impressive improvement to their walls, cabinets and countertops by going gray. Refined and gorgeous, grays are making a big comeback as an attractive neutral in kitchen design that will make your space truly pop!
Gray can appear austere and chilly compared to its warmer neutral counterparts, beige and tan. The trick to working with it is to pair it with a warm material, such as wood, or a contrasting hot and bold hue, such as red, orange or yellow. A gray kitchen may not be the best choice if you live someplace with year-round cool, overcast and rainy days, but it’s an excellent color for a kitchen in a hot climate — it will give your kitchen a cool and elegant vibe. Lots of places sell everything but the kitchen sink, but when you come to any of the four Construction Resources Atlanta Design Centers you can find all you need for your next home improvement project, including top-quality, attractive sink options. Our slab gallery is one of the largest in the southeast at 20,000 square feet and a new countertop can do wonders to revitalize kitchen or bath, and the sink you choose to go with it should be one that you are glad to see day in and day out.
To go along with our gorgeous and durable options for countertops like Cambria and granite countertops, we frequently recommend a choice from our wide selection of stainless steel sinks. We recommend stainless steel for a number of reasons, including:
- Stainless steel is more durable than porcelain or cast iron, two of the leading alternatives. It is more forgiving than composites. It won’t chip, nick or crack. For those considering the environmental impact, stainless steel does not degrade when recycled.
- Stainless steel keeps its luster, and won’t rust, stain or fade. Its finish also resists scratches.
- Stainless steel absorbs shock. Stainless steel “gives” on impact to cushion glasses and dishes against breakage. Read More→

While we quite frequently explore the virtues of classical white marble countertops for kitchen, bath and accents, simple white is not the only option available when it comes to marble surfaces. Another popular option we carry is Bardiglio Nuvolato marble, which takes the traditional white options for marble and turns them on their head.
This is because Bardiglio marble is a more clay-rich metamorphic rock, though it is quarried in the same Appenine Mountain region that produce the sought-after white marbles like Carrara, Venatino and Callacatta. Bardiglio has the same gorgeous texture and finishes, and comes in darker tones as light veining plays across a darker base surface in unique movements. This darker base color can make a luxurious imprint on areas where lighter marble would not work, or can give an amazing contrast or detail to white marble or white traditional surfaces. With Bardiglio marble, you can get the sought-after properties of marble but do something outside of the ordinary. Read More→
As part of the Mohawk Anniversary Sales Event, going on now until October 28, Builders Floor Covering and Tile is excited to announce that we have new ArmorMax hardwood floor samples available now. Having these in stock means customers can explore this newest offering of high tech, damage-resistant flooring, just like we all enjoyed with the stain tests on Smartstrand Silk carpets earlier this year when License to Spill stopped into town.
ArmorMax hardwoods have the most protection that Mohawk offers, with an improved boost from Scotchgard to be the ultimate barrier against the staining and abrasions that come with everyday life. A heavy duty, built-in surface shield repels stains and everyday messes for long-lasting performance in your home, and has been tested to be five times more resistant to wear than the next leading durable surface. This also amounts to less cleaning, as the finish of ArmorMax removes the possibility for dust and soil to bond with the floor surface, so it stays looking brand new longer without all of the expensive treatments. The product is also under a 50 year warranty. Read More→

If you’re looking into home renovation for either enjoyment or sale and are wondering which area of your home to improve, there’s a trending option for enhancing your bathroom, one of the most highly-prized rooms in the house, by adding a wet room. A wet room is basically a shower room that has an open, fully waterproof area rather than a glass enclosure. You can either have a wet room on its own, or if your bathroom is on the smaller side, you can have a wet room with a shower screen or glass partition to keep the water where it needs to be. Wet rooms can be done with smooth concrete, specialty hardwoods and most kinds of tile flooring. Read More→
