If you’ve been checking out the DiY Network, you have probably come across Run My Renovation. In the show, homeowners give up all control over a renovation as every choice is made by online voters. While it sounds risky, the lucky homeowners in the episode “Rekindling the Kitchen Love,” struck it rich with surfaces from the Artisan Group. There’s certainly a happy customer in Philadelphia, who is enjoying a Saratoga Soapstone counter surface in his “MLB mancave” courtesy of DIY network House Crashers. The show turned the home’s plain jane family room into a shrine to everything baseball. You can see a great overview of the show above, and it is still airing as part of the show’s fifth season. The renovation started by destroying the family room. The crew demolished a brick wall to make room for the many improvements, which spanned into the outdoors. The man cave began with a wet bar of Artisan Group Mineral Black Saratoga Soapstone with eight taps, fueled by a refrigerated set of kegs situated in the basement. The basement is accessible from a specially crafted elevator dubbed the “kegavator,” to ferry kegs and people to keep the eight taps running for thirsty Phanatics. A custom made bar top of signed baseballs in resin forms the bar on the opposite side of the taps with Philadelphia Phillies bar stools. Couches form a secondary viewing area with jerseys and huge photo posters of Citizens Bank Park.

Outside in a redone patio area is the primary viewing area with a huge HDTV screen, authentic stadium seats, state-of-the-art grill, and landscaping makeover including stadium grass. Finally, the basement was stocked up with everything MLB and Phillies: mugs, glasses, jerseys, flags, rugs and more.

It’s a great example of how Saratoga soapstone can stand out in any room. The color palette utilized by Stanton

Beginning October 14, be sure to tour all three magnificent homes during The Allure of Foxhall to see terrific design from Beth Webb, Jimmy Stanton and the folks at Room & Board. We are honored to have been chosen to fabricate and install all the vanity, bar and kitchen countertops.

A wide variety of materials were utilized throughout the homes, including Cambria quartz, granite, marble and limestone.

Stanton selected only Cambria for the home he designed in a signature tone on tone color palette. Cambria quartz is non-porous, eco-friendly and completely manufactured in the United States.

Webb incorporated many materials in the home she designed, including marble, soapstone and antiqued French limestone. Antiqued French limestone highlights the kitchen and master bath. Atlanta Kitchen is the only provider of this uniquely finished French limestone in the Atlanta area.

The Room & Board home also features a range of surfaces, including several varieties of granite, French limestone and Cambria.

The artwork, the Seed Bench at Peachtree Center, was designed by Kellen Minor.

“Corian is often thought of as simply a countertop surface,” said Mitch Hires, co-owner of Construction Resources. “The Light Up Atlanta installations show the true versatility of Corian as well as the talent of the Atlanta design community.”

In the “Light Up Atlanta” project, C.H. Briggs commissioned Atlanta’s local artists to incorporate Corian into a work of art representing what Atlanta signifies for them. For his inspiration, Minor drew on his experiences of moving to the city when he was young, comparing them to the germination of a seed. Blue and white LED lights were used to simulate roots and leaves, which are a metaphor for growth and opportunity.

Atlanta Kitchen received sheets of DuPont Corian and fashioned the material  per Minor’s design. Corian is a durable and flexible solid-surface material suitable for a wide range of design applications.

The home has passed through a variety of hands in its lifetime as well. Originally located in the country, it was picked up and moved closer into historical Newnan. Passing from one owner to the next over the course of many years, it was even owned by the Newnan-Coweta Historical Society.

Newnan, called “The City of Homes,” has done much to preserve its Victorian, Antebellum and historical homes and is proud of its architectural and cultural heritage.

Construction Resources was recently given the opportunity to assist in returning the Moss Home to its former glory. In a partnership with Josh Steed Construction and others, the Decatur distributor used its expertise to do what it does best, install luxurious finishes into this historical home.

Specifically, Construction Resources did much remodeling in the home’s kitchen and bathroom. Limestone counters were provided and installed as well as a large kitchen island with marble countertops. The bathroom in the master’s suite received marble counter tops and new shower doors.
