Construction Resources has Georgia’s largest indoor slab gallery at 20,000 square feet of kitchen and bath counter surface options, but did you know that we have a full library of slabs available online, too? By being our friend on Facebook, you can view detailed pictures of our inventory, from granite countertops to limestone surfaces and beyond.

We provide this service so that clients looking for exotic materials can get a good idea of what full slabs look like before coming in, and the pictures are also easy to share with friends, family or remodeling professionals. We know that entering a space with over 3,000 slabs and 2,000 remnants can be daunting – but our customers don’t have to be overwhelmed by choice, they can look at the following galleries ahead of time and narrow their selection:

If you’ve been checking out the DiY Network, you have probably come across Run My Renovation. In the show, homeowners give up all control over a renovation as every choice is made by online voters. While it sounds risky, the lucky homeowners in the episode “Rekindling the Kitchen Love,” struck it rich with surfaces from the Artisan Group. These high quality stone countertops are available at Construction Resources, and were chosen by a landslide of online votes for the most important part of the kitchen.

In fact, over sixty percent of the voters chose Artisan Group’s Golden Crystal stone counter surface for the episode’s kitchen renovation. The episode explores a complete renovation, with the homeowners involved in every way, from hands-on demolishing their own kitchen to applying the paint color chosen for them. Each choice shows both the options that were voted on, and then the homeowners’ responses to the winning design, which range from screaming excitement to disgusted surprise.

You can catch the episode at 9 a.m. on January 30 and again at 11 a.m. on February 14. It’s a great inspiration to see how the cramped kitchen is transformed into a wonderful culinary play place, and at Construction Resources we can give you all kinds of help with that from our galleries to custom fabrication to professional installation. So do like host John DeSilvia says and head on down to our indoor slab gallery at 224 Rio Circle in Decatur, because a small sample can’t adequately show you just how beautiful your next kitchen or bath counter surface can be.

There’s certainly a happy customer in Philadelphia, who is enjoying a Saratoga Soapstone counter surface in his “MLB mancave” courtesy of DIY network House Crashers. The show turned the home’s plain jane family room into a shrine to everything baseball. You can see a great overview of the show above, and it is still airing as part of the show’s fifth season. If you prefer not to watch on air, the episode will be available for purchase on iTunes soon.

The renovation started by destroying the family room. The crew demolished a brick wall to make room for the many improvements, which spanned into the outdoors. The man cave began with a wet bar of Artisan Group Mineral Black Saratoga Soapstone with eight taps, fueled by a refrigerated set of kegs situated in the basement. The basement is accessible from a specially crafted elevator dubbed the “kegavator,” to ferry kegs and people to keep the eight taps running for thirsty Phanatics. A custom made bar top of signed baseballs in resin forms the bar on the opposite side of the taps with Philadelphia Phillies bar stools. Couches form a secondary viewing area with jerseys and huge photo posters of Citizens Bank Park.

Outside in a redone patio area is the primary viewing area with a huge HDTV screen, authentic stadium seats, state-of-the-art grill, and landscaping makeover including stadium grass. Finally, the basement was stocked up with everything MLB and Phillies: mugs, glasses, jerseys, flags, rugs and more.

It’s a great example of how Saratoga soapstone can stand out in any room. Saratoga soapstone is quarried naturally, and not treated with any synthetics so that it shows a soft color with evenly flowing veins. It is practically indestructible, so it’s the perfect surface for a rambunctious man cave or a high-test performance kitchen and everything in between.

Saratoga Soapstone is offered by the Artisan Group with a residential limited lifetime warranty, and exclusively available in Georgia through Atlanta Kitchen, Inc. The collection is proudly displayed at the Construction Resources indoor Slab Gallery at 224 Rio Circle, Decatur, Ga. 30030. For more information about Saratoga Soapstone and all the other options available from Construction Resources, be sure to visit www.constructionresourcesusa.com.

Granite counter surfaces consistently top the most wanted lists for durability and composition, and rightly so. For those wanting something a little different in their kitchen or bath, there are expanded choices available for stone counter tops. Construction Resources is proud to offer a variety of different stones like marble, soapstone and quartz. We also provide new sealers, which add to the durability, looks, and functionality of these alternatives.

Marble is popularly thought of as white, but can come in many different colors and is usually heavily veined. There are a couple of good options for increasing durability for high-traffic areas. The first option is to have a good sealer, like Artisan Group’s Firstline Sealer applied to protect against scratches and stains. Another way to increase durability is to have the marble be honed to give it a matte or satin finish that does not show scratches or etchings as much as a high reflective surface. Marble such as Calacatta Gold and White Carrara are available at Construction Resources, and provide a powerful focal point for any kitchen.

Soapstone offers soft colors with light, flowing veins and can demonstrate dramatic color variations. Even better, it’s practically indestructible and low maintenance, making it another easy choice for traditional nouveau.

Quartz is an increasingly popular surface which offers timeless elegance and sophisticated beauty. Cambria, the premier quartz on the market, features greater durability than granite. Cambria also comes in wide range of colors, from warm to cool, as well as many shades of the increasingly-popular white.

All of these great surfaces and more can be found at Construction Resources! If you would like to see samples or learn more, you can read our blog or visit our indoor Slab Gallery, the largest in Georgia, at 224 Rio Circle, Decatur, Ga. 30030.

If you are looking for a truly one-of-a-kind kitchen, our new Luna marble might be just the countertop you are seeking. We have two gorgeous slabs of this material in stock and they won’t last long.

This beautiful stone is so appealing because it speaks to the most current color palette trend of pairing warm greys and whites. It resembles petrified wood and the natural linear vein running throughout it makes it a very unique surface.

Grey and white kitchens have been white hot in 2011 and the trend is expected to continue into 2012. Gray has become the new hot neutral because it pairs well with bright colors and is fine all by itself. Some designers are even saying that grey is the new white! That makes me wonder if we will see it walking down the aisle at the next wedding we attend?

Grey makes its debut in the kitchen as the color of cabinetry, backsplashes, countertops and flooring. Grey helps to tie all white kitchens together. Luna will certainly help tie together a grey kitchen for some design savvy homeowners.

So if you are remodeling your kitchen and you are feeling a little grey, stop by our showroom and see the new Luna marble that is now in stock. Our indoor slab gallery is 20,000 square feet and includes more than 3,000 slabs and 2,000 remnants. This means you can literally see, touch and visualize your choices in a large format.

For more information on Construction Resources, visit our website or call 404-378-3132.

When the rest of the house is a mess, or the kids are running around, where can you take refuge? If you had the luxury of a master spa, it could be more than a place to get ready in the morning – it can become a sanctuary from the rest of the world.

Southern Living recently released 60 Luxurious Master Bath design tips. The magazine used decorating and design ideas from the experts to transform a master bath into a relaxing retreat. Here are a few of our favorites:

Splurge in the Shower: The shower is such a small and defined space that you can afford a small splurge on a really extraordinary feature like sensational tile.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall: Mirrors can be a great way to open up a room, making a small space look bigger. They are especially useful in bathrooms where you might not really want a window that lets people see inside. So for openness without losing privacy, substitute mirrors for windows. The pros at Atlanta Glass and Mirror can help you design a custom sized vanity mirror and/or framed wall mirror. Available in any cut, their superior mirrors can be cut to the exact size of your choosing and can be bevel edged or not or framed.

Make Something Old New Again: Instead of going out and buying a standard vanity off the shelves of your home improvement store, repurpose a vintage piece of furniture with a new top and new plumbing fixtures. Have a beautiful antique sewing table or trunk from your grandma’s attic that you’d love to make a new use out of? Construction Resources, can help you choose a gorgeous countertop surface, like granite or natural quartz, and fit it perfectly atop that timeless piece of furniture to make it new again.

The rectangular subway tile is making its way into more than crowded hubs of public transportation. Many designers are taking the cue and bringing this piece of urban life indoors. Instead of square-tiled backsplashes or showers, these unique subway tiles are showing up in all sorts of configurations and colors.

We recently installed subway tiles in this Atlanta bathroom, and what a statement they make accented with glass mosaic tiles. The subway tiles traditionally run horizontally, but inside the glass-tile pattern, they are changed up to run vertically. Vertical tiles also outline the shower.

Construction Resources has a phenomenal selection of all sorts of tile for your next project, whether you want to DIY or hire an expert. Visit the Construction Resources showroom, slab yard and slab gallery in Decatur to start planning your project. Who knows, a certain color or material may inspire you to take on more than just a tile project.

Think about all of the important moments that happen at your conference table. When you have a new client or vendor come in to your office, what impression does your conference table leave: power and importance, or neglect?

Construction Resources can provide you with a conference table that makes a statement. Do you need an elegant table, with clean lines and lasting design? You may want to consider marble, like the table in the photograph. This table was installed at KPMG’s SunTrust Plaza office and is made of Calcutta Borghini marble.

Do you want your conference table to make a louder statement? Consider a bold color of Cambria quartz, like the red used in the entry of Museum of Design Atlanta. Cambria is an eco-friendly non-porous surface manufactured 100 percent in the United States. With 100 available colors – some which mimic granite and marble – you’re sure to find what you are looking for.

Construction Resources offers a wide variety of surfaces perfect for your conference table that are easy to care for and long-lasting. No table is too large or complicated, since Construction Resources fabricates slabs onsite at the Decatur facility. At the showroom, slab gallery and slab yard, you can walk among thousands of slabs, selecting your exact one.

For the last 160 years or so, the Moss Home has stood resolute in historical Newnan, Ga. What this home has seen in its time far surpasses the things humans get to see in a normal lifespan. This home stood through the a civil war, the turn of two centuries, the Great Depression, two world wars, rock and roll’s birth, decades of crazy hair and even the dawn of our own digital age.

The home has passed through a variety of hands in its lifetime as well. Originally located in the country, it was picked up and moved closer into historical Newnan. Passing from one owner to the next over the course of many years, it was even owned by the Newnan-Coweta Historical Society.

Newnan, called “The City of Homes,” has done much to preserve its Victorian, Antebellum and historical homes and is proud of its architectural and cultural heritage.

Construction Resources was recently given the opportunity to assist in returning the Moss Home to its former glory. In a partnership with Josh Steed Construction and others, the Decatur distributor used its expertise to do what it does best, install luxurious finishes into this historical home.

Specifically, Construction Resources did much remodeling in the home’s kitchen and bathroom. Limestone counters were provided and installed as well as a large kitchen island with marble countertops. The bathroom in the master’s suite received marble counter tops and new shower doors.

From new residential, to commercial and even historic restoration, Construction Resources is the one-stop-shop to complete your next project. Visit the Construction Resources website for more information.
