Seed Bench at Peachtree Center by Kellen MinorAtlanta Kitchen recently contributed to beautifying Atlanta in well-trafficked areas. In conjunction with C.H. Briggs, Atlanta Kitchen fabricated and installed art made of DuPont Corian in a local MARTA station. The project was done as a part of “Light Up Atlanta Installation.”

The artwork, the Seed Bench at Peachtree Center, was designed by Kellen Minor.

“Corian is often thought of as simply a countertop surface,” said Mitch Hires, co-owner of Construction Resources. “The Light Up Atlanta installations show the true versatility of Corian as well as the talent of the Atlanta design community.” Read More→

Cambria countertops for kitchen remodeling projects

The new 2011 Cambria colors were recently unveiled along with three new collections: Cambrian, Jewel and Marble. With unique offerings in each collection, interior designers will have even more options for their remodeling projects.

The Cambrian collection has a natural look and features colors like the Darlington and the Castell. Both of these offer rough textures that will add variety to a room. The Darlington has a light shade and a porous appearance that mimics coral while the Castell is more of an earthy surface that takes on the properties of rock.

The Jewel collection has some of the more edgy, modern surfaces that are great for bachelor pads or club scenes. The Charston is a color that buyers will love from the moment they lay eyes on it. While the surface seems to be made purely out of black stone, those who look closely will see glimmering blue stones embedded throughout. And when placed under the right lighting, the Charston truly shines. This color can be the focal point of an entire room. Read More→

teaching kitchen renderingAs an Atlanta-based company, Construction Resources understands that helping to improve the community is important. Everything that is done to benefit citizens also benefits the surrounding area. For this reason, Construction Resources recently donated new kitchen countertops, sinks and faucets to the Teaching Kitchen of the United Methodist Children’s Home (UMCH).

The Decatur-based facility was built in the 1970s as a way to teach underprivileged children skills that would last them a lifetime. Since that time, the kitchen has fallen on hard times and is in dire need of repairs and renovations. There is currently a project underway to restore the facility to working order and to replace the aging cabinetry and appliances. Because of donations from Construction Resources and other metro-Atlanta companies, workers have begun construction on the kitchen. Once the project is complete, the facility will be run by volunteers and UMCH staff who will teach cooking skills to children 11 to 18.

Construction Resources is proud to help strengthen the community in which it works. Read More→
