Construction Resources Provides Products to UMCH

By

Everything that is done to benefit citizens also benefits the surrounding area. For this reason, Construction Resources recently donated new kitchen countertops, sinks and faucets to the Teaching Kitchen of the United Methodist Children’s Home (UMCH).

The Decatur-based facility was built in the 1970s as a way to teach underprivileged children skills that would last them a lifetime. Since that time, the kitchen has fallen on hard times and is in dire need of repairs and renovations. There is currently a project underway to restore the facility to working order and to replace the aging cabinetry and appliances. Because of donations from Construction Resources and other metro-Atlanta companies, workers have begun construction on the kitchen. Once the project is complete, the facility will be run by volunteers and UMCH staff who will teach cooking skills to children 11 to 18.

Construction Resources is proud to help strengthen the community in which it works.

“We are pleased that we could contribute to such a worthy cause,” said Mitch Hires, president of Construction Resources. “We understand the importance of teaching young people the ability to be self-sufficient.”

In addition to the UMCH, Construction Resources has donated generously to HomeAid Atlanta over the years, helping to provide housing for temporarily homeless families in Atlanta.
