I have a marble or cultured marble, don’t know which fireplace surround and flat hearts. about 1/3 of the hearth is stained brown, could be from floor stain, pets, I don’t know. But the fireplace would be loevely with a little marble replacement. How do I know what I have, what I need, and who to get to take out old and put in new? Please advise.
Sonya Allen

Hi Sonya,

It’s probably true marble. Cultured marble cannot withstand the heat on a fireplace surround. We will be more than happy to help you find the perfect stone of choice and seal it with DuPont sealer to prevent stains. I’m sure we will have something you’ll like! If you have any other questions, please contact Antonette Copeland, our Design Director, at 404-378-3132.
