Construction Resources is proud to offer a wide variety of marble countertops, and our set of countertop experts can tell you the difference between the varieties and which white is right for you. There is a lot to know about marble, whether you are considering options from the Bonotti Stone Collection or many of the other marble slabs we offer.

The three main types of traditional Italian marble countertops all come from the Cararra region, where marble has been quarried since the times of the Roman Empire. These three main types, Bianco Carrara, Statuary White and Calacata are graded. The clearer and whiter the stone and the more evenly distributed the veining, the higher the grade and price.

All stone slabs are a product of nature, so each is slab is unique. That is especially true of the Italian Carrara marbles, where the veining can vary greatly from one slab to another. The pattern of veining is very important, as the best quality slabs with consistent veining will give you counters with a pleasing, unified appearance.

Marble is not as hard or sturdy as some other stone options, but the choice for marble countertops comes down to the oft-challenged debate of looks versus functionality. Marble has the grace and luxury that other countertop options can’t match, but requires additional care to maintain. Thankfully, we have the highest quality sealers on the market that can make your marble more resistant.

To see our wide selection of marble for yourself, stop by our massive indoor slab gallery at 224 Rio Circle, Decatur, Ga.
